Featuring 800 single-occupancy guest rooms, 90 learning and innovation spaces, a 1,000-seat assembly hall and an “Ignition Center,” KPMG Lakehouse is designed to encourage interaction, collaboration and discovery.

Three years after KPMG announced plans for a new global training and innovation center in Lake Nona, the KPMG Lakehouse is now open. Soon, the firm will begin flying in experts from all over the country who will learn more about Orlando while they’re here.

“Over 40,000 KPMG employees will come through the facility every year and be able to share their great Orlando experience with business leaders across the globe,” said Tim Giuliani, President and CEO of the Partnership. “Similar in size to Orlando’s Amway Center, the facility exemplifies the type of innovation and collaboration we are working to develop in the Orlando region.”

The 55-acre, $400 million facility is located just five miles from Orlando International Airport, allowing the firm to fly directly to 90 percent of its other office locations. Aside from the convenient proximity to the airport, the Lake Nona community provided KPMG the right culture and future-forward vision to foster an innovative and collaborative environment for employee training.

“One of the key factors in choosing Orlando was the innovation we see here,” said Lynne Doughtie, Chairman and CEO, KPMG U.S.

“The Lake Nona area is known for innovation, and that factor was lacking in many other cities we considered. Of course, all the recreational opportunities in the area are also a big draw.”

Featuring 800 single-occupancy guest rooms, 90 learning and innovation spaces, a 1,000-seat assembly hall and an “Ignition Center,” KPMG Lakehouse is designed to encourage interaction, collaboration and discovery. Trainees can eat and drink for free in multiple dining areas including Landing, a separate pub-like restaurant and social venue. A 15,000-square-foot fitness fitness and recreational center and 1.2-mile walking and running track encircling the Lakehouse support the firm’s focus on health and well-being.

“KPMG Lakehouse will be a place to foster relationships among colleagues, reinforce our strong culture and heritage, and enhance our ability to deliver innovative, high-quality service to our clients,” Doughtie said.

KPMG Lakehouse was built with sustainability in mind, following the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) guidelines as a framework with the goal to achieve LEED Silver certification, and joins other LEED certified large facilities in the Orlando region including the Orange County Convention Center and Amway Center. The firm is committed to operating on 100-percent renewable energy in 2020.
