The Responding to COVID-19 Webinar Series: Financial Relief Updates and Assistance is installment 11 of a series of webinars focused on sharing guidance on how best to respond to the realities of COVID-19.

In this webinar, Orlando Regional Chamber Executive Vice President John Davis hosted Senior Area Manager of the Small Business Administration Ed Ramos, CenterState Bank Senior Vice President of Community and Economic Development Phil Zeman, and CenterState Bank SBA Loan Officer Marshall Harris for an engaging discussion on the financial aid and assistance still available for small businesses.

Attendees received updates on the status of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), first round of Emergency Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and the EIDL web portal as well as information on repayment guidelines and loan forgiveness criteria. 

About the Guest Speakers

Phil Zeman
Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Relationship Manager, CenterState Bank
Phil Zeman is a graduate of University of Louisville with a BSBA degree in Accounting. He began his banking career with First Union in Central Florida and worked in Charlotte, NC and Ft. Lauderdale before forming an equity fund, AIM Funding Group, in 2001. Subsequent to closing out the fund, Phil began his second career in banking and moved to the Orlando area in 2012 to assist Floridian Bank in expanding their commercial presence in Central Florida.  

Phil has been active in the business community as he is a graduate of the leadership programs at Orlando Economic Partnership Leadership Orlando (Class 88), Winter Park Chamber of Commerce (Class 26) and Orange County Bar Association-Leadership Law (Class 5). He is an Orlando Regional Chamber advisory board member, Florida Citrus Sports board member, SCORE Orlando mentor and workshop facilitator (Funding Your Business), SBDC advisory council member, Black Business Investment Fund (BBIF) loan committee member and Hospice of the Comforter volunteer. Phil lives in Longwood and is the proud father of his two sons Zachary and Zane, who are 2015 graduates of UCF and UNF, respectively, and live in Jacksonville Beach, FL. 

Ed Ramos
Senior Area Manager, U.S. Small Business Administration, North Florida District Office
Ed Ramos is the U.S. Small Business Administration senior area manager assigned to Orlando Florida. He is responsible for SBA programs and support services that help small business owners and entrepreneurs secure financing, technical assistance, business training and federal contracts. In 1998 he joined the Puerto Rico-U.S. Virgin Islands SBA District staff and in 2003 relocated to Orlando Florida, reassigned as a business information specialist/senior area manager to the North Florida SBA District Office.

Ed is a graduate of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico (Magna Cum Laude) and the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras campus (1982). He completed a master’s degree in public administration from Troy State University in 1988. He is also a board member of the U.S. Selective Service representing Orange County Florida.

Marshall Harris
SBA Loan Officer, CenterState Bank
He is a graduate of Stetson University and has been active in the SBA lending community for over 25 years in Central Florida. During those years, he has assisted countless business owners start or expand their business and maximize profits with an array of SBA products including 7a loans and 504 loans. In addition, over the years he has earned the trust of community and business leaders that can also assist with the needs of his clients.
